Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge raises £7250 in aid of Mates in Mind
In a staggering ten-hour marathon, Dan Brown and Phil Summers of Phoenix Flooring & Tiling were led by Matt Brown literally up hill and down dale in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.
Following extensive training sessions over Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, the challenge to do all three peaks in one session under 12 hours took place on the 5th September 2020 and managed to raise an incredible £7250 in aid of Mates in Mind.
Established in 2016 by the Health in Construction Leadership Group (HCLG) with the support of the British Safety Council, Mates in Mind charity exists to improve the mental health and wellbeing of workplaces across the UK.
Close to the hearts of the directors, amid the Covid pandemic and the impact on mental health, it was felt the challenge offered an opportunity for the team to spend time in the great outdoors together and succeed in the dual role of not only benefiting their own mental health but raising funds to help others as well.
60,896 steps and 10 hours later – success! Well done to the team and a huge thank you to all those who supported us – physically, mentally and financially.
